The creation and location of a new King’s College London campus at Canada Water opened up new opportunities for the university and contributed to the wider masterplan plan for the area. M3 was initially brought on board to review the Mulberry site purchased by the university, input into the business case and devise a delivery strategy. The review led to a masterplan for the wider area and the potential to accommodate the university’s wider expansion ambitions.

Following extensive consultations with support from the Council and the local community, the masterplan and higher education uses were adopted as part of the Canada Water Area Action Plan. M3 then led a team to develop a detailed brief and secure planning consent for the Mulberry site, which includes a student residential block including 770 student rooms, community space and affordable housing and office building.
