JLL Property Triathlon

Mike R | 5 July 2016

A top day was had by all. The weather tried very hard to provide us with the impression that it was summer. Unfortunately, patchy rain and an initial stiff breeze early on gave way to more patchy rain and an increasingly stronger breeze as the day progressed. In addition, the run course had been changed and was measured at a slightly longer 5.2k.

All of the above suggested improvements on last years’ times would be challenging…

There were 6 entered in the sprint Tri, one in the duathlon and two teams in the sprint Tri.

So in no particular order:

Most unlucky competitor: Mark Mortimer who had two punctures before he even got to the event!
Unluckiest competitor part 2: Ollie Greenhill – Puncture on lap 3 of four on the duathlon
Luckiest competitor: Me – got puncture 150 meters from the finish line of the cycle (clearly worth at least 4 seconds….)
Best time of the day: Engine Orme – 1 hr 26 mins 5 secs (pipped Alex by… 3 seconds!)
The ’how do I get out of my wet suit quickly’ Award: Mark and Ben, who took well over 4 minutes to clear transition 1
The learn to swim Award: Me…

Bring on the next one!
